Mr. Long

MR. LONG – FROM A HUMAN RESOURCES STAFF TO DEPUTY MANAGER OF ADMINISTRATION SECTION

Enthusiastic, flexible, progressive and loved by everyone are probably the words that best describe Mr. Le Hoang Long - Deputy Manager of Administration Section.

With 10 years of working with Saigon Paper, he has gradually found a development path for himself and constantly devoted himself to the development of the Company. This time, let's listen to Mr. Long's story!

Hi Mr. Long! How fate brought you to Sai gon Paper?

On May 8, 2012, I joined the Company with the initial job of being in charge of recruitment and personnel training, under the Human Resources Department. However, after that, around May 2013, I found that my personality was quite suitable for the administrative work, and at the same time, the Administration Department was short of people, so I decided to switch to and stick with the Admin until today.

What is your main daily job and how has Sai gon Paper helped you develop your career?

Currently, my job is to manage and cover all administrative activities such as: security, health care, vehicles, service contracts… within the scope of work of the Admin. Every day, I usually list out the tasks that need to be done in the morning, especially paying attention to the jobs that need to be solved immediately and report to the superiors.

My position when I first transferred to the Admin was a staff, after a period of working, my efforts and dedication were also recognized by the Company, in May 2019, I was promoted to the Team leader position and currently is the Deputy Manager of the Admin Section.

When I switched to administrative work, I was also under a lot of pressure because every day I had to solve the problems that arise continuously, requiring me to be online to solve them all the time. However, gradually, I got used to this job and loved it. Because I have to deal with problems that arise constantly, I always have to find and come up with a quick and timely solution, which makes me feel that I also become more responsive and nimble.

Since joining SGP, I feel that I have learned and changed a lot, from the way I work to develop myself. Administrative work requires quickly responding to arising problems, plus the culture and working environment sometimes change, so I have to adapt promptly to the situation. Especially in the transition period from the pure Vietnamese way of working to the Japanese working culture, it requires detail and clarity in every step.

What do you usually do when you need to relieve stress and regain balance in work and life?

I usually relax by listening to some music; go for coffee, get together with friends; traveling with family.

I also often do self-study to find out the root cause of my stress, from there, find solutions by reading books, newspapers, learning methods to improve my mood and relieve stress.

Can you share a mistake you made, how to fix it and the lessons you learned from that incident?

For me, each mistake is a memorable lesson, especially, with the nature of administrative work, the incident arises daily, hourly, requiring immediate resolution, so sometimes mistakes may happen, but every time a mistake happened, I myself will cogitate about the cause of the mistake, what to do if it is decided again so as not to repeat similar problems in the future.

Actually, my point of view is that I don’t mind making mistakes, because the more I do, the more mistakes I make and that’s an opportunity for me to change and learn to develop more in the future.
