Hochiminh City , May 29th, 2008 at the New World Hotel, FPT Information System (FPT IS) held the ERP eBusiness Suite installation analysis ceremony for Saigon Paper JSC after the one year free maintenance period and application.
The installation of the ERP package started in 2006, and overall analysis was conducted by the end of 2007. Beside modern imported facilities since Vietnam’s WTO accession, the company now boasts the most advanced information solution eBusiness Suite for management of production and operation activities designed by Oracle.
The project helped to digitalize the company’s complete business management procedures including raw material purchase, sales, accounting and finance, inventory and production. The Oracle eBusiness Suite has been implemented fully for the company’s offices and branches, including its main office, main warehouse, its production plant in My Xuan IP, and its branch in Hanoi.
The successful analysis and application of the ERP package have made Saigon Paper the first producer of paper in Vietnam to integrate the most advanced enterprise management solution available into operation.
Mr. Cao Tien Vi, President of the Management Board of Saigon Paper says: “Beside constructing big plants in Vietnam’s main regions the North, Central and South, the company’s long-term goal demands that isolated management procedures be replaced by newer, more advanced technology, suited to the company’s new scale of operation and following the current trend of global computerization. Saigon Paper have selected ERP to be its solution of choice while still implementing ISO 9001:2000 quality control standards. Users of ERP will be members of the Board of Directors, managers, specialists, and professionals”.
Saigon Paper’s application of the ERP package can be considered successful.
“ERP has helped to make management and monitoring efforts easier with visible improved productivity. Moreover, it has helped the Board of Directors keep a tighter grip on operations; make timely and effective decisions; better control inputs and outputs; lower production prices while also improving Saigon Paper’s brand domestically and internationally”, Mr. Vi added.
