According to a survey of 7,870 enterprises, 643 have been recognised by consumers as providing ‘Vietnam-made high quality products’. HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) and Saigon Tiep Thi newspaper, organisers of the ‘Vietnam-made high quality products’ programme, yesterday announced the results of a survey on Vietnam’s products. 643 enterprises were recognised as having high quality products, of which 554 produce consumer goods and 89 make raw materials.
The majority were local (530), while the 113 enterprises foreign invested enterprises were considered much better in terms of trademark, product diversification, and distribution channel. According to the organising board, housewives spend $0.5-2 a day (VND250,000-1mil a month) and are the main customers of Vietnam-made high quality products. Commenting about the competitiveness of Vietnam-made products against imported ones, Vu Kim Hanh, Director of ITPC said that consumers usually pay attention to prices and trademarks; however, in general, they prefer imported products due to their high quality and design.
